TEST & KNOW
This summer, The Loop is launching Test & Know, our fundraising campaign to raise £25,000 to fund a mobile laboratory — allowing us to expand our life-saving work all year round, delivering drug checking and testing services across more locations in the UK.
WHY NOW?
This year we’re set to deliver more regular drug checking and testing services than previous years, often operating multiple mobile labs at different locations at the same time. The need is growing - we need more labs and your support.
We’re asking you to donate what you can, whether that’s £12 to ‘pay it forward’ and cover the cost of testing one substance or as much as you are able. Every contribution helps reduce risk and has the potential to save lives - donating more helps us do more.
WHAT YOU’RE FUNDING
Your donation will help us build a new mobile lab, which includes:
An FTIR spectrometer to identify substances with infrared spectroscopy (Link)
Nitazene and fentanyl test strips to detect potent synthetic opioids
A photography kit to capture high-resolution images for public alerts and information
Laptops and software to log and process substances of concern securely
Reagents, PPE, and more
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Directly donating to our fundraiser - every donation helps
Send the link to our campaign to people you know - friends, family, coworkers.

WHAT WE DO
The Loop is a registered harm reduction charity providing:
Community-based drug checking.
Drug testing at festivals and events.
Real-time alerts on substances that pose a significant risk, contributing to Early Warning Systems across the UK.
Accurate information and tailored harm reduction advice.
Training and education, informed by our research and testing.
We work with event organisers, public health and emergency services, including the police, to reduce drug-related harm and support people in making informed decisions.
The Loop is, and continues to be, the first and only charity in the UK to be granted a Home Office license for the delivery of regular drug checking and testing services.
WHY IT MATTERS
Drugs in the UK are ever-changing and unpredictable. Our drug checking and testing identifies high-risk trends and substances in circulation - including potent synthetic opioids like nitazenes, or high-strength MDMA pills - and enables us to issue rapid alerts.
Every time someone checks their drugs with us, they receive personalised harm reduction advice. Many choose to dispose of their drugs after hearing the results, others moderate their dose based on what they’ve learned. This information can save lives.
