Drug testing charity The Loop has issued a warning to UK clubbers about identical-looking pills which actually contain different chemical substances.

Scientists testing drugs at this month's Parklife festival in Manchester came across four sets of pills in circulation that looked like they were part of the same batch, but were actually made with various different drugs.

The Loop has warned that this is a problem as people might purchase more pills following a good experience, and end up with something different that could harm them, depending on dosage.

Warnings have been issued over three identical looking pills that contain substances 'linked to medical incidents' after Parklife festival this weekend.

The festival, which took place in Heaton Park over September 11 and 12, played hosts to thousands of music fans.

But 'several' people were taken ill at the Parklife festival and attended to by event medics, North West Ambulance Service has confirmed.

Partygoers have been urged to get their drugs tested after four different coloured ‘Pharaoh’ pills at Parklife festival were found to contain completely different substances.

The Loop, a charity that checks drugs at festivals and clubs, found at the Manchester event last weekend that only one variety of this pill actually contained MDMA (ecstasy) as advertised.
