[Cambridge News] Drug testing initiative wins an award for Secret Garden Party festival

A scheme where festival-goers can have their drugs tested could be rolled out to other events

A pioneering drug testing initiative launched at this year’s Secret Garden Party has won a top festival award.

Organisers of the festival near Huntingdon said they were “genuinely gratified” to have won the Act of Independence award from the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF).

This year’s Secret Garden Party was the first of its kind to introduce a facility where festival-goers could get drugs tested to see what they contained and then decide whether to take them or not.
